The short version

Old Light Studio is built to be private by default. The whole tool, from decoding your audio to creating the final video, happens inside your own browser, on your device. Your music files and the videos you create are never uploaded to us or anyone else. The only personal information we ever receive is what you choose to type into our contact form.

Who we are

In this policy, "Old Light Studio", "we", "us", and "our" refer to the operators of the website at OldLight.org. If you have any questions, you can reach us through our contact page.

Your audio and videos stay on your device

When you load a track and generate a background video, all processing is performed locally using your browser and graphics hardware (WebGL2 and WebCodecs). We do not have a server that receives, stores, or processes your audio or your rendered videos. We never see them.

Information we collect

Information you provide

• Contact messages: if you use our contact form, we collect your email address, your message, and an optional name, so we can read and reply to you.

Information collected automatically

• Server logs: like virtually every website, our hosting provider records standard technical data when you visit (such as your IP address, browser type, referring page, and the time of the request) for security, abuse prevention, and reliability.

What we do not collect

• We do not require an account, and we do not have a login.
• We do not upload, store, or analyze your audio files or rendered videos.
• We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not run third-party ad trackers.

How we use information

• To read and respond to messages you send us.
• To operate, secure, monitor, and improve the website.
• To comply with the law and protect our rights and our users.

Service providers

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We rely on a small number of trusted providers:

• Cloudflare, for hosting, content delivery, DNS, and security. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary cookies (for example, for bot mitigation and security) and processes the standard server-log data described above.
• Resend, which delivers the email generated when you submit the contact form, so your message reaches our inbox.

Cookies

Old Light Studio does not set its own advertising or analytics cookies. Our security and delivery provider (Cloudflare) may set strictly necessary cookies that are required to keep the site secure and available.

Data retention

We keep contact messages for as long as needed to handle your request and for reasonable record-keeping, then delete them. Technical server logs are retained for a limited period according to our provider's defaults and our security needs.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to object to certain processing. Because the only personal data we typically hold is the content of a contact message, you can exercise these rights, including asking us to delete your message, by reaching out through our contact page.

Children's privacy

Old Light Studio is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

International users

We operate online and use providers that may process data in countries other than yours. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for any such transfers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the tool gains new features or capabilities, or as our practices change. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be reflected on this page.
